Barry R. Sharp Jr., 43, of Collegeville PA, formerly of Wildwood Crest, NJ, husband of Kate (O’Donnell), suddenly passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2020.
Born in Wildwood Crest, NJ, he was the son of the late Barry R. Sharp Sr. and Bonnie (Callahan) Sharp. He was a proud graduate of Wildwood High School and Rowan University with a degree in Computer Science. Barry was a Senior Technical Services Engineer at AVI/SPL.
Barry was an extremely involved and supportive father and doting husband. He enjoyed cheering on his daughter, Elizabeth, in all her sporting events as well as helping his son, Keegan, with his school’s Robotics team. He was a family man and enjoyed spending all of his free time with his friends and loved ones. Barry and his family enjoyed spending the summers at Wildwood Crest, NJ. He will be fondly remembered as a Philadelphia sports enthusiast. One of his favorite traditions was attending the Phillies home opener with his friends.
Surviving along with his wife Kate of 16 years are his children Elizabeth and Keegan Sharp; brother Robert Sharp; sisters-in-law Megan O’Donnell, and Jill (& Michael) Casey; father-in-law James O’Donnell; several nieces and nephews; one great niece; aunts and uncles; and numerous friends.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2020 from 9:00-11:00 AM at Catagnus Funeral Home (329 N. Lewis Rd., Royersford, PA 19468). A memorial service will immediately follow at 11:00 AM with Fr. Alessandro Giardini officiating. Burial will be held privately for the family following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sharp Children’s Education Fund in Barry’s honor.
