Blodwyn D. (Williams) Smith, 90, wife of the late Burton W. Smith Sr., formerly of Pottstown, passed away with her children by her side on Monday at Berkshire Commons in Exeter Township. In December 2010, Burton and Blodwyn celebrated 70 years of marriage.

Born in Pond Creek, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Edmund and Esther (Davis) Williams.

Blodwyn was a loving wife and mother who enjoyed cooking and sewing. In her earlier years, she worked with 4-H groups, teaching young people to sew. Through the years, she had also been active in church work and in various Parent-Teacher Organizations. She loved to knit, crochet, and do various handcrafts. She also enjoyed reading and doing word puzzles. She was a past member of Colebrookdale Chapel and New Life Bible Fellowship Church.

Surviving are her children Phyllis Patukas, wife of Peter, of Coatesville; Burton W. Smith Jr. of Boyertown; Marilyn Fiorini, wife of Larry, of Birdsboro; and Mark Smith, husband of Beverly, of Barto. Also surviving are her sisters, Beatrice Taylor of Virginia, Esther Wray of West Virginia, Gwendolyn Kromis of Upper Lehigh, and Elinor Reese of Walnutport; 6 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 2 step great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Along with her husband and parents, she was predeceased by 5 brothers and 4 sisters.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, 10:30 AM at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 1020 E. Phila. Ave., Gilbertsville, with Pastor Arthur Simpson officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 9:30AM to 10:15AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family has respectfully requested memorial contributions be made in her memory to the Salvation Army, 137 King Street, Pottstown, PA 19464.
