Carol Ann (Nuttall) Simpson, 80, of Limerick, formerly of West Chester, wife of the late Alfred T. Simpson, passed away on Friday, July 10 at Phoenixville Hospital.
Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Walter J. and Edith (Smith) Nuttall.
Carol enjoyed playing cards, bingo, and bocce ball at the club house where she lived. She loved baseball and was an avid Phillies fan and loved more than anything to watch her Grandchildren’s sports events. In her younger years she enjoyed oil painting and shopping.
Surviving is son Thomas A. Simpson, husband of Amy Simpson; daughter Deborah A. Caniglia; grandchildren Thomas J. Simpson, husband of Lauren Simpson, Melissa Ann Simpson, wife of Christina Houck, Katelyn Mary Simpson, and Connor J. Caniglia; great grandchildren Taylor and Hailey Simpson; nephew Jason Griggs; and son in law Carmine “Chuck” Caniglia. Along with her husband and parents, she is predeceased by her daughter in law Suzanne Simpson and sister Charlotte Griggs.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 16, 10:30AM at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Ltd., 329 N. Lewis Road, Royersford. Burial will follow in Philadelphia Memorial Park, Malvern. Visitation will be Thursday from 9:30AM to 10:30AM at the funeral home.
