Clarence Rahn, 97, of Topton, husband of the late Evelyn T. (Tyson) Rahn, passed away on Wednesday, November 18th at the Topton Lutheran Home, where he resided the last 8 years.

Born in Perkiomenville, he was the son of the late James S. Rahn,Jr and Katie (Yerger) Rahn.

He is survived by his niece Barbara Rahn Stoudt of Boyertown, Linda Egolf of Oley, sister-in-law Eleanor Rahn of Pottstown, Esther Witner of Bethlehem, as well as several great nieces and nephews.  Mr. Rahn is predeceased by his siblings Howard Rahn, Claude Rahn, Helen Swoyer and Russel Rahn.

Clarence was a retired die caster from Doehler Jarvis in Pottstown.   Clarence was a life member of American Forestry Association.  He and his wife were long-time owners and operators of Rahn’s Nursery in Douglassville.  He was a member of the Valley Forge Chapter of the American Rhododendron Society where he served on counsel and judged flower shows, including the Philadelphia Flower Show. Clarence also served in the National Guard.  He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Douglassville and Grace Congregation of the Lutheran Home in Topton. 

A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 11th, 11AM at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 711 N. Franklin Street, Pottstown.  Family and friends will be welcome on Friday from 10AM to 11AM at the funeral home.  Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park.
