Clarence Rahn, 97, of Topton, husband of the late Evelyn T. (Tyson) Rahn, passed away on Wednesday at the Topton Lutheran Home.

Born in Perkiomenville, he was the son of the late James S. Rahn Jr and Katie (Yerger) Rahn.
Surviving is his nieces Barbara Stoudt and Linda Egolf and sister in law Esther Witwer. Also surviving are great nieces and great nephews. He is predeceased by his siblings Howard, Claude, and Russel Rahn and Helen Swoyer.

Clarence was a retired die caster from Doehler Jarvis in Pottstown. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Douglassville and Grace Congregation of the Lutheran Home in Topton.  Clarence was a member of the American Rhododendron Society, Valley Forge Chapter where he served on counsel there and judged flower shows including the Philadelphia Flower Show. A life member of the American Forestry Association, he and his wife were owners of Rahns Nursery in Douglassville.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 8th, 11AM at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 711 N. Franklin Street, Pottstown. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park. Family and friends will be welcomed on Tuesday, December 8th from 10AM to 11AM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Clarence’s name to the Valley Forge Chapter of the Rhododendron Society, P.O. Box 715, Southeastern, PA 19399-0715.
