Claudette (Jacobs) Derk, age 70, of the Golden Living Center, Exeter Twp. and formerly of Pottstown, died Sunday at the Center.

Born in Pottstown she was the daughter of the late George and Anne (Prekup) Jacobs.

Claudette was a 1957 graduate of Pottstown High School.  In 1960 she was Miss Congeniality of the Miss Montgomery Pageant and was a tap dancer with Price’s Studio.  She was also very active at the Golden Living Center acting as a volunteer ambassador on the Resident Council there.

Surviving is a daughter; Donna A. (Remington), wife of Alan D’Luzen, of West Reading, and two sisters; Betty Jo wife of Richard Geyer, of Pottstown, and Georgeanne Miller of Allentown.  She is predeceased by a sister, Bonnie Jacobs and a brother George Jacobs.

A Memorial service will be held on Saturday January 9, 2010, at 2 p.m, at the Golden Living Center, 21 Fairlane Rd., Exeter Twp. Burial will be private.

Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 711 N. Franklin St. Pottstown, is in charge of arrangements.
