Conor Philip James McKenna, 15, of Royersford, passed away on Saturday at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Born in Bryn Mawr, Pa he was a son of Maureen (Cahill) McKenna and Timothy E. McKenna.  Conor had a courageous 19 month battle with a very rare form of sarcoma cancer.

He was a sophomore at Spring-Ford High School where he played on the school baseball team and the Spring City Junior Legion baseball team.  Prior to that he played baseball for many years in the Upper Providence Little League and with the Legends travel baseball team. His passion in life was baseball – watching it, reading about it, talking about it and the strategy of being a pitcher and trying to improve his game in every way possible.  He most enjoyed just being with his teammates, friends and brothers on a field playing the game.

In addition to his parents, Conor is also survived by his brothers; Evan McKenna, and Quinn McKenna, his sister; Mary Pat McKenna, all at home, his paternal grand-father; Philip McKenna, husband of the late Mary Ann McKenna, of Norristown, his maternal grandparents; Patricia and James Cahill, of Thorndale, Pa and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Conor’s Mass of Christian Burial on Friday at 11:00 AM at Saint Eleanor R.C. Church, 647 Locust Street, Collegeville, Pa., 19426. Burial will follow at Limerick Garden of Memories Cemetery, Limerick. Friends may also call for a viewing on Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM and Friday morning from 9:15-10:00 AM at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 329 N. Lewis Road, Royersford, Pa., 19468.

Memorial contributions in his name can be made to the Children's Hospital King of Prussia Specialty Care Oncology Unit by a contribution to The Children’s Hospital Foundation( Lockbox 1352), P.O. Box 8500 Philadelphia, Pa., 19178-1352.
