Corrine Hare, age 14, of Upper Providence Township, Montgomery County, PA., passed away peacefully on March30, 2018 surrounded by her loved ones, after a long, courageous battle with osteosarcoma. She is survived by her parents Steven and Maria (nee Helker) and her four older brothers, Ian, Zachary, Liam, and Gavin, and her twin brother, Shane. She is also survived by her paternal grandmother, Nancy Hare (nee Rowley) and her maternal grandparents, Paul and Geraldine Helker, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Corrine attended the 8th grade center of the Spring-Ford School District, where she had many friends, including her besties, Mia, Izzy, Annalese, Lauren, and Leah. She was a good athlete, who played lacrosse for the Limerick Lacrosse and Dynamite Lacrosse Clubs. She also enjoyed playing basketball in the Spring-Ford Youth Basketball League and spending time with her brothers, hanging out with her friends, going to the beach, and making arts and crafts. One of her favorite craft activities was making “slime”.
Throughout her battle with cancer, Corrine displayed courage and wisdom well beyond her young age. She wanted to understand what was going on in her body at every step of the way and actively participated with her physicians and other caregivers in determining her treatment plan. Many of them were amazed by her level of understanding and the questions she posed to them. She greeted each new challenge or setback with grit and determination and always with an attitude of, “I’ve got this.” Corrine always had a smile on her face no matter how bad her pain and nausea, or how tired she was. Her warm smile, as well as her strength, dignity, and determination left a lasting legacy of how special this young woman was.

Corrine wanted her services to be a celebration of her young life. In keeping with this spirit, she requested that everyone that attends her services wear something pink, her favorite color, and a symbol of the fight against cancer. A visitation with the family will take place on Monday evening, April 9, 2018 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Christ’s Church of the Valley, 1560 Yeager Road., Royersford, PA 19468.
