Darlene Kay (Eister) Klischer, 82, wife of the late Norman Klischer, passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at Amity Place in Douglassville.
Born in Lavelle, PA, she was the daughter of the late Wilson and Blanche (Wolfgang) Eister.
The Klischers were married for almost 45 years. Mrs. Klischer graduated from the Pottstown School of Nursing and worked many years at the Pottstown Memorial Medical Center as a floor nurse and in the educational services department.
She was a member of the Exeter Bible Church in Birdsboro where she enjoyed teaching both children’s and ladies’ Sunday School classes.
Mrs. Klischer was a member of the Southeastern Berks Senior Center and volunteered along with her husband delivering Meals on Wheels.
She was an excellent cook and baker. She was very creative and made beautiful scrapbooks and greeting cards and taught card making classes. Mrs. Klischer was also an avid writer and won awards for poems and short stories.
Surviving are her children Matthew Klischer, husband of Nancy, Ruth Ann Lebo, wife of Doug, and Beth Random, wife of Mike; sister Diane Clark, wife of the late Richard; 7 grandchildren; and 1 great grandchild.
Mrs. Klischer was buried privately at the Limerick Garden of Memories. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to her niece, Dana Clark, a teacher at the William Carey School in Bangladesh (ABWE, PO Box 8585, Harrisburg PA 17105 C/O Account #0191271) in Darlene’s name.
