Darlene Kay (Valentine) Wade, 56, wife of 36 years to Robert A. Wade, Sr., of Pottstown, passed away on Sunday at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center. Born in Pottstown, she was a daughter of the late Dorothy (Wentzel) Valentine and Charles Valentine.
She was a 1974 graduate of Pottsgrove High School and had been employed in the Food Service department of the Pottstown School District for 8 years before her recent retirement. Darlene was a very active member of Hopewell Community Church of Pottstown where she spent many happy hours. In her spare time Darlene enjoyed singing and listening to music, playing games and cards with her family, cross stitching, doing crossword puzzles, and most importantly of all, spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband and her father, Darlene is survived by her children; Robert A. Wade, Jr. (husband of Gloria) of Stowe, Jessica Goss (wife of Daryl) of Stowe, Victoria Wade of Pottstown, her grandchildren; Zakkery,Autumn,Emily, Kloe, and her many siblings; Janice Freimann, Carol Vanderslice, Janet Maldonado, Charles Valentine, Jr., Bonnie Lukehart (wife of the late Randal E. Lukehart, Sr.), Donald Valentine, Evelyn Uphold, Joseph Valentine, Guy Bartholomew, Viola Bartholomew, Kathy Bauer, Leroy Bartholomew, and Minerva Hanley. She is also survived by many other numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews. Darlene was also preceded in death by her niece, the late Jennifer Lukehart, and her sibling, the late Lee Bartholomew.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Service on Thursday, starting at 11:00 AM at Hopewell Community Church, Route 100 & North State Street, Pottstown, Pa., 19464, with Pastor Bruce Levengood officiating, and to her Visitation on Thursday Morning from 9:30-10:45 AM at the Church. Burial will follow at Mount Zion Cemetery, Pottstown.
