Daune A. “Cappi” Capobianchi, 53, of Perkiomenville, formerly of Philadelphia and Roslyn, PA, passed away on Thursday at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center after a battle with cancer.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of Bruno “Al” and Kathryn (McLaughlin) Capobianchi.

Daune was a 1975 graduate of Abington High School and attended Montgomery County Community College. She worked as a Director of Operations for Stretch Devices/Newman Roller Frames, in Philadelphia for 21 years. Daune was formerly a leader and camp site director for the Greater Philadelphia Girl Scout Council for many years. She volunteered each Labor Day Weekend at Camp Sunrise where she worked with children with cancer.  Daune was also an avid Texas Hold’ em player.

Along with her parents, she is survived by her brothers Michael J. Capobianchi, husband of Mary Frances "Mances" of Harleysville and Scott Capobianchi of Upper Darby; sister Monica Capobianchi of Perkasie; nieces Maria Pursel, Kathryn Capobianchi and Renzi Dager; nephews Michael and David Capobianchi and Matthew Dager; great nephew Nicholas Capobianchi and great niece Eve Maria Lutz; close and long time dear friend of Victoria Barshis.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, 10:00 AM at The Church of St. Mary, 40 Spring Mount Road, Schwenksville, PA, with Rev. Charles J. McElroy officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park, Pottstown, PA. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Daune’s name to The Daune A. Capobianchi Memorial Fund, 144 Strawberry Lane, Perkasie, PA 18944.
