David Lopes, 91, of Pottstown, formerly of Kealia, Kauai HI, husband of Vera Yvonne (Bolden) Lopes, passed away on Sunday, December 20 at Pottstown Hospital.
Born in Kealia, Kauai HI, he was the son of the late Thomas and Mary (Alapai) Lopes. Grandson of Serephine Lopes and Pakela Kahumoku, Uuma Alapai and Makaliki Luaiki.
David was a US Marine Corp Veteran Kaneohe, Oahu. In Pennsylvania he owned his own carpet installation business, and when he lived on Kauai, he worked in the pineapple and sugarcane industries.
Surviving with his wife are sons Dionicio, Mal, David Jr., Frankie, William, Kailani, Kaleiolani, and Keliilani Lopes; daughters Lorna Goforth, Julie Lopez, and Kuki Gustafson; sister Alice Carvalho; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Along with his parents he is predeceased by his first wife Doloris Yadao; daughter Margie Lopes; and his 14 siblings.
