Born in Media, he was the son of George W. King and the late Margaret E. (Grundy) King.
David had an exceptional talent as a chef and could be found in the kitchen preparing tasty meals especially his delicious Thanksgiving dinner or found behind his Big Green Egg grilling for large parties for Memorial Day. Not only was Dave an avid chef and host, he loved to hunt, fish and garden. On their large wooded property Dave enjoyed planting a garden and a small orchard in memory of Uncle Mark with his 2 sons, Drew and Justin. Being with his boys & the boys’ dogs, Kody and Chase, were Dave’s passions. Annual fishing, hunting, and camping trips with his sons, brother and others were relished by Dave. Dave coached his son’s baseball teams in their younger years, and would encouragingly help each member of their team until the season’s end. Dave and his family would then pack up the truck for a few weeks trip to Nags Head with the extended family where they would swim, laugh, and play games. David’s friendly, outgoing, and compassionate personality will be missed yet live on within each person who he has come in contact with. Dave’s family and friends will miss him deeply.
Surviving with his wife is son Drew King; sister Ellen Snyder, wife of Andrew; brother William “Bill” King; nieces Megan Gomes, wife of Daniel, Emily Snyder, Amanda Fawn Berry, and Sarah King; and nephew Dawson Ettore. Along with his mother, he is predeceased by his son Justin P. King.
