Richard Allen “Rabbit” Sosa, age 83, of Boyertown

Richard Allen “Rabbit” Sosa, age 83, of Boyertown, passed away on Thursday, October 28 at Sanatoga Center, Pottstown. He was a sweet, kind, and love of life man who will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

Born in Pottstown he was the son of the late Miguel J and Maria{Morejon} Sosa

Richard was a private antique dealer most of his life. He would also build rustic furniture and crafts out of his home. He loved making and giving his wood projects to family and friends. His love for cars led him from owning and racing a car in his youth to working on the starting line at Maple Grove Dragway. He also traveled to different states working for the NHRA at national meets until he suffered a stroke at 53. Even after his stroke he helped his racing friends from the sidelines. Richard was an avid NASCAR fan and he always knew when the Phillies and Eagles were playing. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Surviving is his daughter Terry L. Haas, wife of Ronald: brothers Raymond Sosa and Jesse Sosa: grandchildren Nicholas Haas, husband of Jessica, Holly Haas,and Allen Sosa: and great grandchildren Owen and Quinn Haas. Also surviving is a daughter in law Beth Sosa. Along with his parents he was predeceased by his son Rodney Allen Sosa and brother Michael.

Dear Terry and Sosa family. I was very saddened to hear of Dick’s passing. May there be some comfort in knowing that he is finally at peace in God’s loving care. My mother always shared her personal stories of the Sosa brothers with me. Rest in peace Dick
