Charles E. Thieme, Jr.

Charles E. Thieme, Jr., 75, husband of Kathleen R. (Pollock) Thieme of Limerick, PA, passed into Glory on Thursday, November 25, 2021 at his home. Charlie was born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Charles E. and Elizabeth (Carson) Thieme, Sr. He was a veteran of the United States Army and proudly served his country in the Vietnam War.
Before retiring from Fabricated Alloy Products in September 2013, Charlie worked for over 40 years as a Steel Fabrication Layout Specialist and an Auto Cad drafter at several businesses through the greater Philadelphia area. Charlie’s most memorable steel fabrication project was working on the steel that was used in the construction of the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, CA.
Charlie deeply loved the Lord Jesus Christ, his family, friends, and all he came in contact with. Charlie was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, Uncle and granddad “PaPa”. He actively volunteered his time at the various churches he attended over his lifetime. Charlie served in many capacities in church, ranging from a greeter, usher, bible study leader, Awana leader, bus ministry driver, motorcycle tent ministry and Elder. He volunteered at the Greater Philadelphia Billy Graham crusade and at the Hope Rescue Mission in Reading, PA. Charlie was a member of the American Legion and Disabled Veterans Association.
In addition to his wife, Kathleen, of 52 years, Charlie is survived by his two children: Charles E. Thieme, III “Chip”, husband of Brenda (Kemner) Thieme and Gayle (Thieme) Levengood, wife of David Levengood; his four grandchildren, Kaitlyn Thieme, Josiah Thieme, Elizabeth Levengood and Joshua Levengood. Charlie is also survived by two sisters, Carol (Thieme) Testa, wife of Anthony Testa and Linda (Thieme) Manns, the wife of Ronald Manns and by his brother-in-law Larry Pollock, the husband of Joan (Canally) Pollock.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, Dec. 2, 2021, at 11:00AM at Berean Bible Church (2675 E High Street, Pottstown, PA 19464) with Rev, Jacob Susek, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Limerick Garden of Memories. A visitation will be held on Thursday, Dec. 2, 2021, from 9:30AM – 10:45AM at Berean Bible Church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions should be made to Hope Rescue Mission, 645 N 6th St, Reading, PA 19601.
