Dante A. Desiderio, 82

Dante A. Desiderio, 82, of Fleetwood, Pennsylvania passed away of natural causes on Sunday, January 9, in his home. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Dante was the son of the late Vincent Desiderio and Margaret (DiPietro).

Dante is survived by wife Dolores (Hope) Desiderio. Dante was predeceased by his first wife Martha (Epps) Desiderio, with whom he had four children: Victor, of Blandon, PA; Vincent, of Reading, PA; Dante, of Arlington, VA, and Denise, of Alexandria, VA. In addition to his children, Dante is survived by six grandchildren: Andrew, Nicholas, Evan, Chase, Hailey and Leah.

Dante was raised in Philadelphia, PA as one of seven boys. Dante is survived by his brothers Anthony and Victor. His brothers Elmerico (Al), Felix, Mario, and Salvatore preceded Dante in death.

Dante was proud of his enlisted service as a Marine, and later continued to honor all those who served as part of the Honor Guard for Post 217 in Topton, PA.

In addition to his military service, Dante was most proud of his children. His most cherished times were during family gatherings, over-elaborate Italian meals featuring his world-famous meatballs, when the family gathered to tell stories and laugh together. What gave Dante’s life special meaning in recent years, however, was his grandchildren. Dante never missed the opportunity to talk to, or about his grandchildren, and reveled in the details of their lives.

Dante will be greatly missed by his wife, children, grandchildren, brothers, and his many nieces and nephews. He will live on in their hearts and be cherished for his influence and for the many special memories of a life well-lived.

Visitation will be held Thursday January 13, 2022 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Ltd., 329 N. Lewis Road, Royersford, PA 19468, followed by a service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Limerick Garden of Memories, Limerick PA where Dante will be buried alongside family members.

My condolences to the family. I always remember Uncle Danny’s smile and good nature. He had a great sense of humor and there was a kindness in his eyes that I always appreciated. The world will be a little less special without him. May God bless you all as you deal with the loss of a man who truly made a difference.
