John L. “Coop” Cooper III, 42

John Lawrence Cooper III, 42, husband of Gretchen N. (Pascal) Cooper, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at his home in North Coventry.

Born in Reading, PA, he was the son of the late John L. Cooper II and Kathleen (Gromalski) Cooper.

John loved baseball. After his playing days, John continued his passion for baseball by coaching his son, Johnny, and his little league baseball teams. John was also a good golfer. He played on the Pottstown High School Varsity team where he won the PAC-10 Golf Championship in 1997. He then went on to play on scholarship at Clarion University. John also coached the Pottstown High School Varsity Golf Team for 8 years. In his spare time, John also enjoyed hunting. He was a wonderful father and husband and will be truly missed.

Surviving along with his wife Gretchen of 12 years, is his son Johnny L. Cooper IV; Uncle Bill Gromalski; and many extended family members. He is predeceased by his parents John L. Cooper II and Kathleen (Gromalski) Cooper; and his grandparents William and Kay Gromalski.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, May 14, 2022, at 11:00 AM at St. Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Church (256 Swamp Pike, Schwenksville, PA 19473) with Fr. Paul Brandt officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Park. A viewing will also be held on Saturday, may 14, 2022, from 9:00-10:45AM at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Coventry Little League of PA (333 S Penn St, Pottstown, PA 19465) in John’s name.
