Francis “Frank” D. Higgins Jr., 83, husband of the late Judith A. (Murray) Higgins, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at Manatawny Manor in Pottstown.
Born in Norristown, he was the son of the late Francis D. Higgins Sr. and Margaret (Daniels) Higgins.
Frank proudly served in the United States Army. After his years in the service, Frank joined the West Norriton Township Police force. After 29 years of service, he retired as Senior Sargent. Frank then served as the Township Commissioner for 8 years in West Norriton and was a part time school bus driver for Methacton School district. Frank loved to play golf and was an avid Philadelphia sports fan. Spending time with his children and grandchildren was his favorite thing to do.
Surviving is his daughter Bethann Slanker, wife of Shawn; son Scott Higgins, husband of Beth; grandchildren Jacob Slanker, Tyler Nolan, Kathleen Higgins, Giovani Higgins, and Genesis Higgins. He is predeceased by his wife Judith Higgins and son Todd Higgins.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 6, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Catagnus Funeral Home (711 N. Franklin St., Pottstown, PA 19464). Visitation will also be held on Monday, June 6, 2022, from 10:00-11:00AM at the funeral home. Burial will be held privately by the family at a later date.
