Donald A. Ziegler, 90, of Vincennes, IN., husband of the late Ruth (Reese) Ziegler, passed away on Monday, January 18 at Bridgepointe Health Campus in Vincennes. IN.
Born in Pottstown, he was the son of the late Amos and Bertha (Schlegel) Ziegler.
Don worked as a chief draftsman at Bethlehem Steel in Pottstown until its closing. He went on to retired from Vincennes Steel where he was Vice-President of engineering. He received his Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Lafayette College and a Master’s degree in Civil engineering from Drexel University. He also served in the US Army. A member of First Baptist Church in Pottstown, he served as deacon, Sunday school teacher, and Boy Scout Troop Master. He continued to be active at First Baptist Church in Vincennes. Some of Don’s favorite pastimes were playing tennis, bowling, ping pong and being on the golf course.
Surviving are his sons Mark Ziegler, husband of Terry, and John Ziegler, husband of Heidi; and granddaughter Kristen Ziegler. Along with his wife and parents, he is predeceased by his sister Joyce Pearson; and a grandson Derek Ziegler.
