Mr Boehmer was one of my very favorite teachers. I’m happy to read that he enjoyed theater as I did myself. It saddens me to hear of his passing and my heart is with all who knew him.
Earl had been one of our most staunch supports of our Black Creek Twp HS Alumni Assoc. He always made it a priority each year to attend and to have a special time devoted to our veterans with a short program and memorial to all who served our country. He will definitely be missed by all who knew him – his attendance at our meetings was always accompanied by the soft pretzels he brought along for refreshments. Our condolences to his family – they have lost a legend!! Sandra Rittenhouse, Sect.
Mr. Boehmer was one of my favorite teachers. I still recall a particular incident and that incredible smile of his and that was 41 years ago; that shows the impact of a great teacher and how their memory sticks with you. My sincerest condolences to the family.
I had such a great time going to the faculty plays at Pottsgrove high school with Jean and her brothers. Mr Boehmer was always fun to watch. Jean , I really liked your parents and I’m sure their souls are together again. I’m praying for your family.
Mr. Boehmer was one of my favorite teachers. Sad to hear of his passing.
When I started teaching at Pottsgrove in 1986, Earl and I quickly became friends due to our shared love of theater. That year he directed me in the last of Pottsgrove’s faculty plays. I was able to return the favor by casting him in the first faculty cameo role as Ed Sullivan in 1993’s “Bye, Bye, Birdie.” When he was in the building washing school athletic uniforms, Earl would often pop in to the auditorium on weekends to check on my set construction progress (and lend a hand from time to time) or duck into an evening rehearsal for a few minutes to watch from the back of auditorium. He was always quick with a smile, a funny anecdote, or a heart-warming story.
