Edwin J. Ovington, 79, of Royersford, formerly of Gulph Mills, Pennsylvania, passed away on Friday, January 8, 2021 at Phoenixville Hospital.
Born in Philadelphia, graduate of Edison High School, he was the son of the late Randolph and Mae (Gilbert) Ovington.
Ed (Buddy) built a beautiful life and family, leaving his beloved wife (and childhood sweetheart) of 57 years, Maria (Babe) Ovington, and 3 beautiful daughters; Karen Tyson, wife of Eric, Lori Daniels, and Kimberly Herbert, wife of Thomas and a pair of grandchildren from each daughter. Ryan, Brittany, Ashleigh, Zachary, Brendan, and Brianna.
Along with his parents, he is predeceased by his brothers Randolph Jr. and Alfred Ovington. Edwin was a great family man, who mainly enjoyed spending time with his family. Through many summers in Brigantine, he enjoyed going to the casinos, and boating. He also enjoyed hunting and piloted many flights out of Wings Airport as a recreational pilot.
Ed was an accomplished businessman in both the graphic arts industry, and the building/construction trade, in which he had great passion for each.
A funeral will be held on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Ltd., 329 N. Lewis Road, Royersford. The visitation/viewing will be held from 10:00-11:00. A service will be held following the visitation promptly at 11:00. The entombment will follow at Limerick Garden of Memories in the Good Shepherd Mausoleum, 44 Swamp Pike, Limerick.
