Gary M. Bloch, 61, of Gilbertsville, New Hanover Twp., husband of Joann (DeLuca) Bloch, passed away after a battle with cancer on Monday, September 14, 2020 at his home, surrounded by his family.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Stanley J. and Beverly (Newman) Bloch.
Gary’s life revolved around firefighting. He was a member from 1981 to 1995 at Newport Fire Company Station 44 and 88 in Bensalem and from 1995 till the present at New Hanover Fire Company. He was also a member of the New Hanover Fire Police. Gary was an active member and would help out at all New Hanover Fire Company events from Chicken BBQ’s to the Santa Runs.
Surviving with his wife of 39 years are sons Gregory M. Bloch, fiancé of Val Emig and Steven M. Bloch, husband of Shannon Davids; daughter Jessica A. Bogert, wife of Andrew; brother Kevin Bloch; sister Victoria Nicholas; and loving “Pop Pop” to grandchildren Madison, Mason, Maverick, Michael, Imogene, Rory, Libby, Luke, Caleb, and Elleana. Along with his parents, he is predeceased by his brother Steven Bloch.
A memorial service will be Saturday, September 26, 10:30AM at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Ltd., 329 N. Lewis Road, Royersford with visitation from 9:00AM to 10:30AM.

I am so sorry to hear you list the battle Gary! You always made us laugh with your antics at work and you helped me understand more about hearing loss when I talked to you about my granddaughter. You will be truly missed! Rest easy my friend! Watch over your family and keep them safe.
