George P. Denger passed peacefully on Jan 31 at the Shannondell Meadows home in Audubon, Pennsylvania.
George spent the majority of his life working at Automatic Timing and Controls in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania as an electrical engineer, where he designed and helped build industrial timers, counters, and switches. His love for tinkering extended to his home life where he enjoyed automating the household. As a gentleman farmer, he spent most of his time raising cattle and tending to the farm with his Oliver tractor. He had a love for nature and planned many trips across the country with his family, including cross country camping trips to the Canadian Rockies. He furthered his love for nature by building a home in the woods near Ricketts Glen State Park, and always looked forward to a yearly summer vacation in Stone Harbor, New Jersey. He was a long-time member of the Bryn Mawr Chapter of The Mainliners a cappella singing chorus where he also performed as the lead singer in a quartet. As a younger man he enjoyed providing entertainment as a Schuhplattler dancer with his brothers and cousins.
George was happiest when surrounded by family. He was the son of the late Peter and Antonie Denger from Long Island, NY. He is survived by brother Robert and wife Anita of Virginia and three children, daughter, Jean Nowrey and husband Brian Nowrey of Boyertown, son George Denger and wife Tamara of Nazareth, and son Jeff Denger and wife Jodi of Centre Hall. George had 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a younger brother Peter.
