Glenn was a gentle, ethical and caring man, with a sharp mind and generous spirit. He was a loving husband and father, immensely proud of his US Marine son. Glenn truly made the world a better place.
Ann and Jake – I am terribly sorry for your loss. My introduction to Glenn was at the cabin in Kunkletown. Immediately he was welcoming with his pure smile. He was one of the most genuine gentlemen that I knew. He clearly was what God asks us to be, “the face of God during our earthly life”. I hope I can be half the good husband and father that Glenn was.
May Glenn Rest in the Peace of God’s warm embrace and may He comfort you both.
I can give no higher compliment than to say Glenn was the epitome of a “good man.” I’m proud to say he was my friend. My condolences to his family.
Glenn – I will miss you buddy. Will never forget my first day at GSK and sharing an office with you. The passion for science, the love for your family and the friendship you showed your colleagues are what set you apart from everyone else.
Rest my friend and I know one day we’ll be together again

Glenn was one of the kindest people I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. He was a great scientist, colleague and friend. A favorite memory of mine is his homestead with chickens and ‘racing’ goats. We’ll miss him terribly.
Glenn was one of the funniest, most gentle, and most caring people I’ve had the pleasure of meeting and working with. I’ll truly miss him, as well as our IPA adventures.
Glenn – here is to remembering the softball games and post game beers. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.
When I went through my bout with cancer. Glenn was one of the people who took over my work so I could concentrate on getting better. I will always be grateful for what he did and for knowing him. This a huge loss to our department, our company and the world. He is was one of the good ones.
Glenn was both a wonderful human being and scientist. I will always be grateful for his help, patience and kindness when I joined the department in 2015. We will miss him dearly.
We never met face to face Glenn, but through our numerous conversations on a TC, I came to realise what a treasure you were and how well respected you were. We will all miss your input, your easy pleasant tone and your huge contributions. Rest in peace. My sincere condolences to the family.
Glenn always had a kind word. I have known Glenn since I started at fSB almost 30 yrs ago. I never worked directly with him, though our groups have always worked closely together. I was on the fun league softball team the Rascals where he was team captain. He made playing fun and no matter how bad I was, and I was, he was encouraging as he handed me a beer and told me to ‘shake it off, you’ll get it next time.’. Glenn always showed a deep interest when you’d talk with him. I can’t imagine NOT knowing him. His smile, his voice, his laughter will be missed. Thank you Glenn.
Truly miss you, Glenn. Your expertise, knowledges and dedication to science have made significant impact to our company and our department, and also myself personally. So privilege being your coworker and learnt lots from you. Your kindness, helpfulness and excellency in your works are the model for rest of us to imitate. The organic eggs from your chicken farm are the best on the market :-).
I will remember Glenn as one of the kindest persons I have ever met, always ready to help others and always with a smile on his face. I will miss you dearly, Glenn.
This is a true loss to all of us who had the pleasure of knowing this amazing person. Glenn was always positive, kind and generous. Without a doubt all of us in the department will remember him daily as we glance at his usual spot. I will miss you!
Glenn, you have taught me so much about data visualization and trouble shooting with the large scale screening data. You are always ready to help with a smiling face. I guess you have helped so many people and you don’t even realize how much I appreciated. I can’t believe that you are not going to be there in building 12. How I wished that I had stopped by to say “Thank you” before you left. Also thank you for telling me the stories about your goat and chicken and the American way of living. You remind me of what is really important in life, kindness, caring, hardworking, enjoying life with family and friends. Thank you Glenn!
A true gentleman and loving friend who brightened the lives of everyone who crossed his path. He will forever be a man to look up to and will continue to inspire those were lucky enough to know him. Cheers to you, Glenn! Shine on!
Glenn was always such a source of peacefulness & kindness. He was a blessing to work with and his passion to share science with others was an inspiration. He will be missed dearly but I’m sure his influence will carry on. Prayers to your family as you deal with his loss.
I had the pleasure of knowing Glenn for 12 at GSK. He was kind, giving of his time, insightful and (though he would never admit it) optimistic. I never saw a situation that he couldn’t find a way to improve and he made everything he touched that much better. I’ll miss our spring Manayunk festival and his funny way of wishing for luck by “knocking wood”, then rapping his own head. Glenn was bigger than words can express and I’m glad I’m one of the lucky people who got to know him.

You are truly a Gentle Giant. You will be missed and I was so lucky and grateful to have met you. Thank you for all your smile and support, Glenn.
Glenn–your friends from the Rascals and from GSK will miss you!! What a good guy. Thoughts and prayers for your family.
The world lost a good person…Glenn was a genuinely good person. He never failed to say good morning at the beginning of the day and goodbye at the end of the day. He always found time to help and always making sure everyone around him was okay. Glenn-you will be dearly missed. I am fortunate that we were able to crossed paths and you showed me what good humanity is all about. Rest in peace….until we meet again
May God hold Ann, Jake, and all of Glenn’s family and friends in close comfort at this time. Glenn has been a joy to know, learn from, and work in partnership with. Glenn touched so many lives in so many positive ways. I am forever grateful God for Glenn’s presence in my professional life for the last 28 years as well as all the fun conversations about our families. His deep love for Ann and Jake was evident in his smile every time he spoke of them. I will deeply miss him.
Glenn, one of the most upbeat, considerate and patient colleagues I have ever worked with. Always friendly and inclusive, you really did make the world a better place.
My deepest condolences to Glenn’s family. I had the pleasure of working with Glenn for almost 20 years at GSK. He was not only a first class scientist but also a first class person. I will miss him greatly.
What a kind, genial man Glenn was in every interaction I had with him large or small. His good nature and ability will be missed.
My sincere condolences to Glenn’s Family. i have know Glenn forever back to the days where we were co-commissioners of the fSB Softball League. There is not a kinder more honest person than Glenn. He will be sorely missed!
Glenn was a great colleague and a friend but most importantly he was a genuinely good person. He never tried to one up others, sharing his personal experiences but always gave others a chance to gather their thoughts and finish stories.
I have worked with him for over 27 years. During this time, I have never come across a person who was so caring; down to earth, and always willing to help with a smile. When he became a father, he was beside himself with joy and he always worked towards being a great dad. He was very proud of his son Jake and every time we talked about Jake; I could see twinkle in his eyes.
One of my most endearing memories of Glenn is spending time with him when we had gone to Madrid, Spain for a 3-day conference. One day we had managed to find time to go sightseeing and came across a vendor selling roasted water chestnuts from a stall on the street. When I told Glenn that growing up in India, we used to eat them, he said, “let us do it again” and we both enjoyed water chestnuts standing at a curb side.
It is an honor to have known Glenn. He loved life, people and people loved him back. He has a special place in all of our hearts.
My heartfelt condolences to Ann, Jake and rest of the family.
I worked with Glenn for a brief time many years ago, but that was enough to get to know this good man. He knew his craft, he enjoyed his work, but most of all he seemed to enjoy our company. Kindness is the word that best described him. These are moments when the loss of person like him hurts a little more, but at the same time makes me hopeful reminding me what is that we will be remembered for. Mission accomplished, Glenn.
My deepest condolences to Glenn’s family. Glenn was a dear friend and colleague for many years at GSK, we used to sit next to each other in the open office. His genuine kindness, care and optimism always brought the best out of us. He always found time to help and always helped with a bright smile, there was never one single exception. He had left such a positive impact on all of us who were lucky enough to know him, lucky enough to work with him, and lucky enough to be a friend of him. You will be missed dearly, Glenn!
Glenn had such generosity and patience. He was always willing to take the time to troubleshoot problems with people, and he had a positive and humorous perspective on challenges in the workplace. He was a great mentor to me.
Glenn had a high interest and good knowledge of nature and the outdoors. I always enjoyed talking with him about some new thing that I saw on a hike. He also provided great advice on how to train my dog. I will always have great memories of the conversations that we had, and I am very thankful to have had this friendship with him.
I will truly miss you Glenn!
You are a true gentleman and a person of integrity. I will always remember your smile and laughter.
Rest in peace Glenn. My sincere condolences to Glenn’s family.
A gentleman. A true gentleman. My sincere and heartfelt condolences to the Hofmann family. To know Glenn left a FAVORABLE impression on everyone he encountered, warms my heart.
Glenn I have only known you for a brief time but your gentle nature and dedication to the hard work of discovery were an inspiration. You will be sorely missed.
My condolences to the Hofmann family! While I hadn’t worked with Glenn for nearly 25 years, he had a smile and a hello for me every time I saw him in the hallway. He had such a positive attitude in life!
I miss Glenn already. What a great guy- fantastic scientist, gentle manner, team player, and very fun loving. His presence at GSK will leave a void that will never be filled. RIP.
I felt incredibly sad to hear of Glenn’s passing. Glenn was an amazing person who brought this enormous energy and excitement to work everyday. After all, who gets excited about screening? Well Glenn did and he helped me understand why. Once a screener, always a screener. Thank you Glenn! I learned so much from you and for that will always be grateful. Of course, Glenn didn’t mind having a pint or three as well. I toast to you Glenn knowing that you are smiling on us all now.
To Jake and Ann, I am so sorry for what you are going through. I met you Ann (and Glenn too) almost exactly 20 years ago at SB in UM, hard to believe. We are all fortunate to have known Glenn and will keep beautiful memories of him and his smile alive and well forever. I can only hope that helps a little bit during these difficult days.
We miss you Glenn! Thanks for being so awesome. The world was better because you were in it.
