Helen E. (Purr) Letting, 59, of Douglassville, formerly of Sanatoga, wife of Steven M. Letting, passed away with her loving family by her side on Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2020.

Surviving with her husband are sons Joshua Letting, husband of Michele, and Alexander Letting, husband of Brooke; daughters Rachel Underwood, wife of Colin, and Stephanie Letting; siblings Margie Zernone (late Frank), Joseph Purr, husband of Diane, Mark Purr, husband of Jane, and Monica Downs, wife of Joseph; and grandchildren Owen, Nolan, Lucas, Mason, and Makayla.

Born in Chattanooga, TN, she was the daughter of Joseph J. Purr Jr. and the late Wanda F. (McDonough) Purr.

Helen lived in the Port Richmond section of Philadelphia for several years during her childhood, where she developed her love for reading and met her lifelong friend Gina. Her family moved to Audubon PA where Helen attended Methacton High School, graduating in 1979. Helen worked for Chilton Company in Radnor as a computer programmer for 20 years. She was the pitcher for the company women’s softball team and was twice a member of a championship Chilton mixed bowling league team.
Helen loved to swim, and she loved the beach. She looked forward to summers down the shore, up the mountains at the Club, and family vacations to visit Mom & Dad in Florida. She loved nothing more than playing with her children in the sand and surf and watching her children like a hawk from a poolside perch. Helen enjoyed playing cards, and was an excellent bridge, pinochle, and poker player. She read every Stephen King book and liked sci-fi movies, but nothing mattered more to Helen than spending time with her family.

Services and interment are private.
