Jane (Renton) Smith, 94, of Collegeville, beloved wife of the late Robert Smith, passed away Saturday March 13, 2021 at home with her family at her bedside.
Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Henry Nicholson Renton and Blanche Conrad Renton.
Jane was a graduate of William & Mary College, where she was a member of the Gamma Phi Beta sorority. Before retiring, she had served as Director of Public Relations for two Philadelphia area hospitals, and Women’s Editor for a local newspaper. In her retirement, Jane enjoyed a wide variety of hobbies and interests, including bible study groups, playing bridge, reading, gardening and travel.
She was a member of Hope Community Church in King of Prussia. Jane was also a member of the Collegeville Women’s Club and volunteered for more than 10 years with Meals On Wheels.
Surviving are her three daughters, Elizabeth Ross, wife of Gregg; Jenny Buelow, wife of William; Katherine Taylor, wife of David; two grandchildren, Melanie and William; and her twin sister, Elizabeth Turner.
A Celebration of Life will be held privately at a later date.
