Jearline “Jerry” Hamlette, 70, of Pottstown, passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2011 after a brief illness.

Born in Brookneal, VA, she was the daughter of the late Willard W. and Mary (Wathall) Hamlette.

Jearline was a member of the Church of the Living God in Pottstown where she was an active trustee member, served faithfully in the missionary, hospitality and pastors aid ministries. She worked at the former Sunset Dress Factory as a seamstress and retired from Doehler Jarvis in 2001 after 23 years of service. She enjoyed shopping, traveling and is known for her southern cooking, especially her corn pudding.

She is survived by her children Cheryl Hamlette of Marietta, GA, Linda L. Anthony, wife of Bishop Elect Michael Anthony of Pottstown, Presley Hamlette of Pottstown and Toni Williams of Marietta, GA; her brothers Mac Arthur Hamlette of Lynchburg, VA, and Roosevelt Hamlette of Kutztown; and her sister Pastor Jannie Brant, wife of Monroe, of Pottstown; and grandchildren Karmisha, Diamand, Warren, Jade, Justen, Preston, and Tymberlin, all who affectionately called “Nanny”. Also surviving are her granddoggies Clapper and Genesis and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Along with her parents, she is predeceased by her sisters Dorothy Harvey and Lillie Vie Hubbard, her brother William Hamlette, daughter in law Kimberly Hamlette, and her best friend Stella Cotton.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 12, 11:00AM at the Heart of God Family Worship Center, 201 N. Hanover Street, with Bishop Elect Michael R.C. Anthony officiating. Burial will follow in Limerick Garden of Memories. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:00AM to 10:45AM at the church.
