Jo Ann (Gabriel) Leper, 77, of Pottstown, wife of the late Eugene Samuel Leper, passed away surrounded by her family Wednesday March 25, 2020 at the Pottstown Hospital.
Born in Painesville, OH, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Audrey (McCutcheon) Gabriel. JoAnn grew up in Johnstown, PA.
Jo Ann loved to host family gatherings, especially around the holidays when she passionately decorated her home to look like a holiday showcase. In her eyes, there were never enough decorations to celebrate the holidays. Although already a great cook, she was an advent reader of cookbooks and loved trying out new found recipes.
Surviving is her daughter Susan Lynn Elliott-Quay wife of Edwin C.; four grandchildren Ronald Eugene Elliott, Audra Ann Elliott, Kristina Lynn Elliott, and Vanessa Lynn Elliott; 9 great grandchildren; two brothers Barry and Terry Gabriel; two sisters Val Gabriel and Kathy Knight; her nieces Cynthia Tedesco, Vicki Naugle, Melissa Knight and two nephews; Joseph and Shawn Knight and her beloved dog Peanut.
Jo Ann will be laid to rest with her beloved husband Eugene in New Jersey. Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
Rest in peace nanny…. Debbie
We love you Nanny! You’ll forever be in our hearts!!!! Miss you everyday! Ron, Nicole, Vinnie, Josh and Jae.
We had the privilege of being being neighbors with Jo Ann and Gene in MIllville. So many happy memories! Our friendship really started their the first Christmas on the street. JoAnn sent Gene down with a big bowl of pudding she thought my children would like. A friendship that started over the most delicious pudding! She was an incredible friend- great listener and so incredibly funny! She loved to talk about her family. As much as we missed her when she moved, we were so thankful she’d be by her family. She and Gene will always be remembered with much love and admiration. Prayers of peace to your family.
