Joseph A. Walter, 78, of North Coventry, husband of Bette J. (Smeltz) Walter of 51 years, passed away Tuesday February 25, 2020 at Seasons Hospice in Phoenixville.

Born in Lansdale, he was the son of the late Henry and Wanda (Szelc) Walter.

Joe served in the US Air Force from 1960-1964, where he worked as Aircraft Ground equipment Maintenance. He was employed at Moore push pin, in Flourtown. Since he retired, he enjoyed taking day trips to the beach with his wife. He was a kind and generous man who loved his family dearly. He enjoyed fishing, music, dancing, and vacationing to Ocean City, Longneck, DE., and the Outer Banks. He was a fan of the New York Giants The family would like to thank Pottstown Hospital ICU & Seasons Hospice for their dedicated and quality care.

Surviving along with his wife are three sons Ricky Herb, Christopher Walter husband of Kathy, and Daniel Herb husband of Bonnie; one daughter Lisa Montagano wife of Arnold; twelve grandchildren Brooke, Alexandria, April, Kalie, Shelby, Danny, Gabriella, Sean, Arnaldo, Daniel Jr, Lauren, and Kristina. Five great grandchildren Evey, Connor, Brynn, Drew and Isla.  Two sisters Henrietta Mondo and Claire Moyer plus many nieces & nephews whom he loved.

Along with his parents, Joe was predeceased by his sister Lorraine Walter and his grandson Gregory.

A memorial service will be held Friday March 6, 2020 at 2:30 PM at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Ltd., 329 N. Lewis Rd., Royersford, PA 19468. Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:15 PM at the funeral home.
