Katherine I. (DeLong) Hurter, 100, wife of the late Herman Hurter, of Largo, FL, formerly of Pottstown, passed away on Thursday, May 21 at Vineyard Assisted Living.

Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Hiram and Henrietta (Dress)DeLong.

Surviving are sons Lowell P. “Skip” Hurter, husband of Norma Kay, of Largo, FL and David R. Hurter, husband of Patricia, of Denton, TX, 16 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. Also surviving is daughter in law Mary Hurter of Northport, AL. Along with her husband and parents, she is predeceased by her sons Otto and H. Clifton Hurter; daughter Marguerite Hurter Miller: sisters Florence DeLong and  Lillian Charles; and brothers Paul, Russell and Roy DeLong.

Katherine was a member of the former Transfiguration Luther Church, now Emmanuel Lutheran Church, in Pottstown. She moved from the Pottstown area to Largo in 1991.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 30, 1:30PM at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 711 N. Franklin Street, Pottstown. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call on Friday from 7PM to 9PM and on Saturday from 1:00PM to 1:30PM at the funeral home.
