Lois A. (Reigner) Rhoads, 72, wife of 53 years to Charles D. Rhoads of Barto, passed away on Thursday at Grandview Hospital. Born in Niantic, she was a daughter of the late Mary and Wayne Reigner.

She was a 1956 graduate of Boyertown High School, and in addition to being a homemaker she helped run her family’s dairy farm for many years. Lois had been employed as a secretary at the former Boyertown Casket Company. She was an active longtime member of the New Hanover Lutheran Church of Gilbertsville, and she had been a secretary for the Montgomery County Farm Bureau. She had also previously been the chairwoman of the Women’s Committee of the Farm Bureau. Lois was also a member of the Keystone Grange of Trappe. In her spare time she enjoyed organizing and attending social functions, playing cards, and spending time with her family and friends.

In addition to her husband, she is also survived by her children; C. David Rhoads, Jr., husband of Lori, of Barto, and Mary Alice Mack, wife of James, of Pennsburg, her grandchildren; Kristy Gress, wife of Greg, Annmarie Mack, Cynthia Mack, her great-grandchildren; Kasey Gress, Morgan Gress, Hailey Gress, and her sister; Betty Schwenk, of Pottstown. In addition to her parents, Lois was also preceded in death by her brothers; the late Kenny Reigner and the late Carl Reigner, and her sister; the late Jeanette Yoder.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Service on Friday at 10:30 AM at New Hanover Lutheran Church, 2941 Lutheran Road, Gilbertsville, Pa., 19525, and to her Visitation on Friday morning from 9:30-10:15 AM at the church. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Boyertown. Friends may also call on Thursday evening from 7:00-8:30 PM at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 1020 E. Philadelphia Avenue, Gilbertsville, Pa., 19525.
