How to sum up the life of a woman who meant so incredibly much to so many?
Lorraine K. (Uba) Rega, of Royersford, passed away peacefully at home on July 10, 2021. Lorraine was born June 30, 1932 to Agnes (Kateusz) and Stanley Uba, the last of 5 children and the only girl. She graduated from Royersford High School, where she was an excellent student and athlete, earning varsity letters in both Field Hockey and Basketball. She continued to stay close to her high school classmates, attending and helping to organize class reunions for over 50 years.
Lorraine married Peter Rega in 1952 and together they had 4 children: Barbara (widow of Joe) Saner, Paul (Linda), Susan Reppert, and Peter (Cindy). Lorraine stayed busy and worked many jobs throughout her life, making lifelong friends along the way. Her final job – that lasted 30 years – was shipping and materials manager at East Coast Metals, Inc. Part of what made Lorraine so special was her ability to connect with everyone she met. She never met a stranger, from the cashiers at Giant to the person sitting next to her on the airplane. Her kindness and warmth made everyone feel at ease. She had a genuine interest in others and remembered so many small details – she made everyone feel special. She was an accomplished baker who made cakes for all events from weddings to baby showers. Lorraine was the anchor for her bowling team who, in addition to league play, would travel to state and national tournaments until the 1990s. Lorraine also was an avid seamstress who made her own wedding dress, and up until very recently continued to sew by making lap blankets to donate for people in wheelchairs, and facemasks for hospitals in the early days of the pandemic. She also loved to play BINGO, where she enjoyed catching up on a weekly basis with her friends as much as anything. Lorraine was a member of the “Birthday Girls” who met up for lunch to celebrate birthdays – and other life events – for decades.
Lorraine was predeceased by her parents, her husband, and her brothers Walter (Jean), Vincent (Kate) , Richard (Lucy) and Thaddeaus (Margie). Lorraine is survived by her children, grandchildren Karla (Steven Amigh), Stephanie (Krag Browder), Mindy (PJ Touhey), Paul Rega Jr, Elizabeth Rega, Kuhrt (Brittany) Engle, Amanda (Steve Gill), Kelly Reppert and Melissa Reppert. She also has 9 great-grandchildren who were very near and dear to her heart: Amanda, Katie and Peter Amigh, Megan and Ryan Touhey, Cameron and Peyton Engle, and Mackenzie and Steve Gill, Jr. In addition she is survived by one sister-in-law, Jenny Rega.

Visitation will be Friday, July 16 from 9:30-11:00 am at Catagnus Funeral Home, 329 N. Lewis Road, Royersford, with a church service at 11, followed by burial at Limerick Garden of Memories, 44 Swamp Pike, Royersford.
