Palmer H. Williamson, 79, husband of the late Juanita (Stine) Williamson, passed away on Sunday at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center.
Born in Shippensburg, he was the son of the late Hugh H. and Viola E. (Mixell) Williamson.
He was the loving father of Stuart Williamson, husband of Sandy, and Nina Walters, wife of Clyde, cherished grandfather of Heather Wiglusz, wife of Jared, and loving brother of Helen Yurtseven, wife of Nick, and Mary Wingert. Also surviving is one step grandson, 3 step granddaughters and 6 step great grandchildren and his beloved dogs, Rawly and Tigger. He is predeceased by brothers Ronald, Foster, and Myron Williamson, Harold Mixell and sister Winifred Hershey.
Palmer was a teacher at Spring Ford High School for 36 years, retiring in 1993. He graduated with a Masters in Business Education from Shippensburg University. Palmer was a US Army veteran serving in the 101st Airborne as an Army med tech from 1951-1953. He taught Sunday School at Zion Lutheran Church in Spring City. Palmer was a member of both the Cumberland Valley Lodge #315 F&AM and the Consistory in the Valley of Reading Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite. Most of all, Palmer was a loving father and grandfather and friend to many and will be sadly missed.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, 10:30AM at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Ltd., 329 N. Lewis Road, Royersford. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery, Shippensburg. Family and friends may call on Friday from 9:00AM to 10:20AM at the funeral home.
