Phyllis M. (Scheffey) Churach, 86, of Lower Pottsgrove, passed away Saturday, May 29, 2021, at Season’s Hospice in Phoenixville. She was the wife of the late George V. Churach. They celebrated 50 years of marriage in 2006 and were members of St. Aloysius Catholic Church.
Phyllis was born May 17, 1935, in Lower Pottsgrove to the late James M. and Pauline (Rupert) Scheffey.
She was a 1953 graduate of Pottstown High School, where she was a twirler.
She enjoyed monthly luncheons with her classmates, and trips to Atlantic City.
Phyllis worked at the Stanley Flagg Company until she became a home maker in 1958.
Phyllis is survived by her children: Gregory J. Churach, fiancé of Carol R. Bliem, Upper Pottsgrove; Diane M. Pain, wife of Kirby, Nashville; Michael A. Churach Sr., husband of Kim, Lower Pottsgrove; Stephen P. Churach, Douglassville; sister Nancy Whelen of Georgetown, Delaware; grandchildren Jessica Churach, Jennifer Henning (Kyle), Michael Churach Jr. (Jessica), Paul Churach (Kayla), Tyler Churach, Zachary Churach, Jacob Churach, Benjamin Churach, Michaela Pain, John Pain; great grandchildren Everett Churach, Nora Henning, Porter Henning, and her nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers James L. and Donald G. Scheffey.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday June 8, 2021 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 223 Beech St., Pottstown, PA 19464. Visitation will be from 10:00-10:45 AM at the church gathering center. Graveside services will follow at St. Aloysius New Cemetery. Arrangements are by Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, LLC.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Aloysius Catholic Church at the above address.
