Richard N. Deets, Sr., 92, husband of the late Ethlyne M. (Davis) Deets of Pottstown, passed away on Sunday at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Gertrude O. (Deets) Reed.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WorldWar II, and had been employed for over 25 years as a welder at the former Phoenix Steel Company in Phoenixville before retiring in 1980. Richard was also a member of the Salem United Methodist Church of Pottstown, and a life member of the Pottstown Elks Lodge #814 B.P.O.E. who also served on the lodge council chapter consistory, and a member of the American Legion Post #47 of Pottstown. In addition, he was also a member of the Stichter Masonic Lodge #254 of Pottstown, and the Rajah Shriners Temple of Reading, and he also enjoyed golfing.

Richard is survived by his children; Richard N. Deets, Jr., of Surfside Beach, S.C., Robert Wallace, of Coatesville, Cheryl Killinger, of Lancaster County, David Price, of Bowers Beach, De., and his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and his one great-great-grandson. He was also preceded in death by his daughters; the late Sandra Houck, the late Joan Bernhart, & his companion, Hilda E. Smith.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service on Thursday, starting at 10:30 AM at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 711 N. Franklin Street, Pottstown, Pa., 19464, and to his Visitation on Thursday morning from 9-10:15 AM at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Northwood Cemetery, Downingtown, Pa.
