Wayne K. Weidman, 72, of Spring City, husband of Elizabeth J. (Papke), passed away on Friday, March 6 at his home, surrounded by his family.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late George A. and Gertrude J. (Gottshall) Weidman.

Wayne was a US Air Force veteran, serving during the Vietnam War. He was an active member at Pughtown Baptist church and was Scout Master for Troop 25 in Pughtown. He was also a member of Ludwig’s Corner Fire Company from 1991-1995. Wayne graduated from Owen J. Roberts HS in 1965 and went on to own his own screen-printing business.

Surviving with his wife of 52 years is son Brian W. Weidman, husband of Amanda; daughter Nancy Jarvis, wife of Brian; 6 grandsons, 1 granddaughter, a great grandson and great granddaughter. Along with his parents, he is predeceased by his 2 sisters and his brother.

Wayne’s world was one filled with love and laughter. He loved spending time with his family and friends. Wayne enjoyed hunting, fishing, Sunday walks, playing cards and gardening. On holiday weekends during the summer he could be found counting cars, as they passed by, from the front porch of the family’s home on Route 100. He started every day with a cup, or multiple cups, of coffee. However, Pepsi was his go to drink from lunch time on. Even with all that caffeine he was a master at taking a cat nap!

A memorial service will be Saturday, April 18, 11:00AM at Pughtown Baptist Church, 780 Pughtown Rd, Spring City, PA 19475.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Wayne’s name to the George Weidman Memorial Fund, C/O Pughtown Baptist church at the above address.
