William A. Sheeler, Sr., 87, husband of the late Dorothy Mae (Henning) Sheeler, a lifetime resident of Knauertown, passed away on Monday, September 6, 2010, at Parkhouse Providence Pointe in Royersford. Born in Elverson, Pa., he was a son of the late Ada (Wells) Sheeler and the late Howard A. Sheeler.

He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II, and he was a member of Mount Carmel United Methodist Church in St. Peters, Pa. William was also a life member of the George Amole American Legion Post # 47 of Pottstown, and he had also been a former troop leader of the Boy Scouts of America. He had also performed for many years as a drummer and singer with the Jumpin Jacks and the Bob Petro Quartet bands.

William is survived by his daughter; Lorna Lea Baird (wife of James III) of Pottstown, his son; William A. Sheeler, Jr. (husband of Kimberly) of Sassamansville, and his grandchildren; Shannon Baird, Dr. James Baird, IV, Rebekah Sheeler, Breanna Sheeler, and William Sheeler.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Service on Saturday, September 11, 2010, starting at 1:00 PM at Mount Carmel United Methodist Church, 2203 Harmonyville Road, St. Peters, Pa., 19470. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Memorial contributions in his name can be made to the Parkhouse Providence Pointe Resident fund, 1600 Black Rock Road, Royersford, Pa., 19468.
