William “Bill” Hallman, Jr., 82, beloved husband of Elizabeth (Bet) Hallman passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 24, 2021, at Phoenixville Hospital.
Bill was born in and a lifelong resident of Pottstown, Pennsylvania. He was the son of the late William Hallman, Sr. and Mae Hallman (Miller). He was a Christian man who was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Bechtelsville, Pa.
Bill spent his career as a union carpenter. Coming from a long line of carpenters, he was a proud member of the Carpenter’s Union of Philadelphia. He was blessed to retire in 1993.
More than anything, Bill enjoyed times spent with his family. He worked crosswords, jigsaw puzzles and Sudoku.
Bill and Betty shared a love of antiques and for many years have owned B & B Antiques.
Bill loved working outside and gardening. His yard and garden were so beautiful and always tended to with love.
He was a patriotic man and loved his country and respected law enforcement and our military. He always looked for “Made in America” when he shopped.
Surviving along with his wife Betty of 45 years, are his children Karen Bush, wife of Steve Parkansky, Gary Hallman, husband of Monica, Kathleen Thrasher, wife of Mike, and David Bush husband of Linda; grandchildren Jennifer, Steven, Kelsey, Kody, Haydn, Chad, Ashley and Stefanie. He also had three great-grandchildren: Andrew, Christian and Ava.
Bill is predeceased by his parents and his son-in-law, Barry Bush.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Catagnus Funeral Home (711 N. Franklin Street, Pottstown, PA. 19464) with Pastor Eugene Zaiser officiating. Burial will follow at Pottstown Cemetery. Visitation will also be held on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 from 9:30 -11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 1749 South Main Street, Bechtelsville, PA 19505 in Bill’s name.
