Betty Eileen Crable, 72, of Gilbertsville, passed away peacefully at her residence on Monday, August 2, 2021.
Born in Philadelphia and growing up in Miami, FL until she was 16 years old; she was the daughter of the late Kenneth L. and Cecelia (Truchel) Crable.
Betty was a member of Gilbertsville Fire Company. She worked for many years as a Sweeper Truck Driver for Martin Stone Quarry, worked at Tri State Trucking in Missouri, and drove truck for Path Mark Supermarkets. Betty loved her family, God, dancing, music and a good vanilla cake. She also loved to travel the country. Betty will be sadly missed by her entire family.
Surviving are her daughters Gina DiPietro and Sheila Downer; sister Barbara Cousineau; brothers Dale Crable, husband of Deborah, Darryl Crable, husband of Elizabeth, and Dwayne Crable, husband of Karen; grandchildren Bret Downer, Stephanie Snyder, wife of Jason, Autumn Mensick, and Peter Mensick; great grandchildren Carter Downer, Peyton Nguyen, and Kennedy Snyder; stepsister Sharon Meschter; and 14 nieces and nephews. Michael Meschter, Amanda Crable, Garret Crable, Clinton Crable, Cody Crable, Courtney Crable-Malloy, Chloe Crable- Duvall, Jessica Crable-Helwig, Brittany Crable-Engle, Jackqulyne Crable; Jerry Cousineau, Brian Cousineau, and Michael Cousineau. Also surviving is her ex-husband Thomas E. DiPietro of 35 years.
Along with her parents, she is predeceased by her companion James Henry; stepmother Isabel M Kumpf; brother-in-law Jerry Cousineau; niece Ashli M. Crable; stepbrother-in-law Donald Meschter; and her beloved dog Wolfie.
A celebration of Betty’s life will be held at a later date.
