Kathleen Ann (Gerner) Ristine, 65, of Douglassville, wife of 45 years to Walter "Hooper" J. Ristine, passed away peacefully at home Saturday October 16, 2021.
Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of Sheila (Domeracki) Gerner and the late Joseph Gerner.
Kathy met her husband while working at a horse stable in Philadelphia as teens. She went on to work in food service and childcare through her career, showcasing her strengths as a great cook and caregiver. She retired to their home of 10+ years in Douglassville, shared with horses, dogs, cats & chickens all for which Kathy & Hooper cared. Kathy enjoyed spending time at the shore, particularly Cape May and Longport Dog Beach in Ocean City and loved to cap a day on the beach with some seafood or a soft serve ice cream cone. She loved spending time with her family, hosting parties, holidays and celebrations big and small. She most of all adored being a grandmother, lovingly forever "Bappy" to her grandchildren.
Surviving along with her husband and mother are two sons Walter Ristine Jr. husband of Heather and Nicholas Ristine husband of Katie; one daughter Shannon Bobinsky wife of Nicholas; grandchildren Chase, Alexia, Caden, Peter, and Gemma; brother Jimmy Gerner husband of Lisa; sisters Susan Walsh wife of Rick McGinn, Peggy Tucker wife of John, and Diane Boyer wife of John; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with her father, Kathy was predeceased by her brother John Gerner.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday October 22, 2021 at 1:30PM at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Ltd., 329 N. Lewis Rd., Royersford, PA 19468. Interment will be private. Visitation will be held Friday from 12:30-1:15 PM at the funeral home.
