Vernon Roy Platt, 84

Vernon Roy Platt, age 84 of Stowe PA. was called home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on October 12, 2021.

Born April 30th, 1937, in Spring City PA to Roy & Emily Platt, Vernon graduated from Springford High School, then served in the Naval Reserves for 4 years. Soon after, he went to work as a driver for Bachman’s Potato Chip Company and later served as a Police Officer for the West Pottsgrove Township Police. He later began working for Herr’s Potato Chips where he served in several different positions before retiring after 33 years of service. Vernon also worked as a security guard at the Pottstown Hospital.

Vernon was without a doubt, a hardworking and dedicated person no matter where he was working or what he was doing. He enjoyed spending time with his family, listening to gospel music, eating and socializing with friends and neighbors. He was always the first to offer his help when needed and spent many Saturdays cutting the grass at the church he attended.

Reunited in heaven with his parents Roy and Emily Platt and sister Azelma Sheetz. Vernon is survived by his brother Ronnie Platt (wife Linda), Sister Berdella Nice (husband Sonny), wife of 28 years Marilyn Platt, daughters Bambi Squires (husband Tim), Robin Platt, Cindi Platt-Elliott, Wendi Acree (husband Tim), Kandi Noll & Nikki Bateman. Vernon has 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren whom he was very proud of.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on November 13, 2021, at the Royersford Church of the Nazarene in Royersford, PA beginning at 1:00 pm. A private burial to follow at a later date.

Memorial donations may be made to the Missions Program at Valley Forge Baptist Temple at www.valleyforgebaptist.org ("give" tab) or mail to 616 S. Trappe Road, Collegeville, PA 19426.
