Frank J. Szell Jr., 74, of Pottstown, Upper Pottsgrove Twp., husband of Eileen M. (Kinsky) Szell, passed away on Monday, October 25 at home after a sudden illness.
Born in Phoenixville, he was the son of the late Frank J. Szell Sr. and Helen C. (Gross) Szell.
Frank was a US Navy veteran and a member of Royersford VFW Post #6341. He was also a member of the Royersford F&AM Lodge #535 and the Pikeville Rod and Gun Club. Frank worked for BF Goodrich in Oaks till it closed. He went on to work as a welder for Dana Parish in Reading and retiring from Dana in Pottstown after 12 years. Frank enjoyed fishing, loved to go crabbing at Love Creek in Delaware and enjoyed gardening and cooking family meals.
Surviving with his wife are sons F. Bradley Szell, husband of Traci A., and Douglas A. Szell, husband of Michele A.; grandchildren Elizabeth Grace, Alexander Domenick, Brady James, and Aiden Francis Szell; and feline companions Buddy and BB.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 1, 11:00AM at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Ltd., 329 N. Lewis Road, Royersford, with visitation from 9:30AM to 10:45AM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Franks’ name to the charity of one’s choice.
