Elizabeth (nee Deignan) Singewald, 89, of Gilbertsville, PA passed away on Friday, October 29, 2021 at Sanatoga Center.

Elizabeth, better known as Betty, was born in Livingston, NJ to the late William and Marion Deignan and graduated from West Orange, NJ High School. She lived most of her life in the Manasquan, NJ area, and also spent the later years of her life in Las Vegas, NV, Southern Pines, NC, and New Hanover, PA. While Betty held various jobs through the years, such as NJ Bell Telephone and in the home health care industry, Betty is best remembered as a dedicated mother and a devoted wife.

Betty enjoyed arts, crafts, and home decor and remodeling. Those that visited Betty wherever she lived were always welcomes into an immaculate home. Betty also travels quite extensively throughout the United States, as well as a special trip to Ireland. She was enormously proud of her Irish heritage.

Betty was Roman Catholic and her faith was a central part of her life.

Betty is survived by her son William and his wife Cary of Douglassville, PA, daughter Mary Kircher, and her husband Robert of Gilbertsville, PA six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Betty was predeceased in 1998 by her husband Robert.

Services will be private. Betty will be interred with her husband at Arlington National Cemetery, Alexandria, VA.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that a tree or perennial be planted in Betty’s memory.
