Mary Lou Salamone, 89

Mary Lou (Scheetz) Salamone, 89, of Trappe, formerly of East Norriton, wife of the late Raymond R. Salamone, passed away Sunday November 7, 2021 at home.

Born in Norristown, she was the daughter of the late Frederick A. and Marie (Deegan) Scheetz.

Mary Lou was a member of the Red Hatter Society, the Women’s Club of Norristown, the Women’s Bowling League at Facenda Whitaker, and for over ten years served as the President and Secretary of the Norristown Area Band Boosters. She worked as a Draftsman for GE before starting a family. Mary Lou enjoyed crocheting and ceramics. She was an avid Philadelphia sports fan.

Surviving are three daughters Maryann Gross wife of the late Robert R. Gross III, Roberta L. Hales wife of Thomas, and Geraldine Sobities partner of Joseph T. Russella Jr.; grandchildren Serena Sobities fiancée of Nicholas Dawson, Ashley Sobities, Katrina Gross DelVecchio wife of Adam, Richard R. Hales, and Kyle R. Gross; great grandchildren Kyler, Landon, Dominic, and Kayleigh DelVecchio; and her sister Elizabeth “Jane” Paschal wife of Joseph.

Along with her husband and parents, Mary Lou was predeceased by her grandson Stephen D. Hales.

A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday November 16, 2021 at 11:30 AM at St. Eleanor Catholic Church, 647 Locust St., Collegeville, PA 19426. Burial will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Norristown. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 10:00-11:15 AM at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mary Lou’s memory to the hospice care facility that gave her loving care: Angelic Health Hospice, 486 Norristown Road, Suite 133 Blue Bell, PA 19422. Please note in memory of Mary Lou Salamone.
