Allan Russell Hartshorn, 88, of Limerick, formerly of Saratoga Springs, NY, husband of Janice (Gildea) Hartshorn, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 7, 2021 at Seasons Hospice.
Born in Halfmoon, NY, he was the son of the late Walter and Carolyn (VanAlstyne) Hartshorn of Cohoes, NY.
Allan worked for GE Silicones in Waterford, NY for almost 40 years, retiring in 1994. Allan was a member of New Hanover United Methodist Church in Gilbertsville, PA. He was a US Navy veteran who served during the Korean Conflict. Allan was a member of the Evening Star Lodge #75 F&AM, NY where he received his 60 years accommodation certificate. He was also a member of the BPOE #2192 in Colonie, NY. Allan was a loving husband and father who enjoyed spending time with family, friends and traveling. He loved to build, and at 83, he built a deck on their home.
Surviving with his wife of 67 years is daughter Cindy Parker, wife of Stuart; sister Evelyn Jacques; grandchildren Alex (Chris Foundas) and Claire Parker; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Along with his parents, he is predeceased by his brothers Arthur, Dallas, Donald, and William Hartshorn.
A memorial service will be held at New Hanover United Methodist Church – Chapel 2211 Swamp Pike Gilbertsville, PA 19525 on Thursday November 18th
2021 at 11:30AM, doors will be open at 11AM.
