Beth (McGee) Rakowski, 60, of Pottstown, East Coventry Twp., wife of Raymond Rakowski, passed away on Friday, December 31 at Promedica Nursing Home in Pottstown.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of Richard McGee and Arline Wyatt.

Beth received her Bachelors of Arts in accounting from the College of Philadelphia. She worked for the Pottstown YWCA for 11 years where she started as a volunteer and worked her way to their Chief Financial Officer. Beth volunteered with Habitat for Humantiy and The Steel River Playhouse and loved to garden and being outside. Beth and Ray often travelled to Maine for vacation. Her and Raymond also competed on the national level in the Senior Olympics.

Surviving with her husband and parents is brother Charles McGee, fiancé of Eileen Rupertus and niece Megan McGee.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 10, 11:00AM at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Ltd., 595 Main Street, Trappe, with visitation from 10:00Am to 11:00AM. Burial will be private and at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Beth’s name to YWCA Tri-County Area Development Department, 315 King St, Pottstown, PA 19464

Beth was my cousin/sister/friend. I will so miss our daily text and phone conversations, and the laughs and tears we shared over the years. Sending love and sympathy to Ray and the rest of her family. She is out of pain and at peace now.
