Ruthanne “Dolly” (Benensky) Olock, 69, of Boyertown, wife of Robert J. Olock, passed away on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at Phoenixville Hospital.

Born in Shenandoah, PA, she was the daughter of the late Andrew J. and IdaRuth (Windish) Benensky.

Ruthanne was a 1970 graduate of BAHS. She was very involved in animal rights and provided care for even the smallest of animals. Ruthanne actively volunteered with the American Cancer Society for the Boyertown/Oley “Bark for Life” events. She was also a committee member of Bob’s Barkers Relay for Life team. She opened her heart and home to adopt many homeless furry creatures, who became family, with Ruthanne saying there was always enough love for one more.

Surviving with her husband are daughters Jessica Kummerer, significant other to Matthew Neifert, and Tina Nester; grandson Andrew Robert Nester; and faithful canine companion Girlie. Along with her parents, she is predeceased by her brother George Hahn.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 13 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 1020 E. Phila. Ave., Gilbertsville. A private graveside service will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ruthanne’s name to the Animal Rescue League of Berks County, 58 Kennel Road, Birdsboro, PA 19508.

Robert, you and Ruthanne were the dynamic duo. I will always remember laughing with the two of you over everything and anything. Ruthanne had a smile that could be felt even behind the Covid masks. I enjoyed seeing her take such pride in her cute matching outfits. I loved listening to her share her adventures to Wallyworld with me. I will share a Bible verse that Ruthanne gave me on a beautiful pink pen. To the Olock family, may, "The Lord bless you and keep you; may His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you; and give you peace." Thinking and praying for ya'll. <3

Mark and I wish the entire family our condolences. Dolly was a terrific friend. She made us members of her extended family for which we are forever thankful.

Like yours, our hearts hurt from her passing.

We know God will wrap his arms around you and keep you strong so you can heal. May the Lord bless you and keep you.
