Mee Kuen Hom, 80

Mee Kuen Hom, 80

Mee Kuen (Mui) Hom, 80, wife of the late Hung Kim Hom, passed away peacefully at her home in Collegeville on Monday, February 7, 2022.

Born in Taishan Guangdong, China, she was the daughter of Fong Yen Moy and Yuet Moy.

Family and honoring her Chinese culture were extremely important to Mee. Although quite humble, Mee was direct, spoke truthfully and one strong lady. Everyone was attracted to her witty, gregarious personality. Her sense of humor always made you feel welcome, like family. Many of her children’s friends called her mom. She always shared the importance of education, core values, integrity and respect with those around her.

Mee was a small business owner (Jumbo Chinese Restaurant) with her husband, fulfilling her American dream. She retired from the Keystone Uniform Cap Company as a Supervisor. She had many talents, but the most significant to her was being wife, mom and grandmom (Pau Pau or Ma Ma).

Surviving are her children William K. Hom, husband of Phei, Tina Mitchum, wife of Anthony, and Amy Burch, wife of Kevin; grandchildren Jessica, Brendan, Matthew, Savannah, Jentry, Erin, and Justin.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at 11:00AM at Catagnus Funeral Home (595 W. Main St., Trappe, PA 19426). A viewing will also be held on Saturday, February 12, 2022, from 9:00-11:00AM at the funeral home. Burial will be held privately by the family following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to (https://www.parkinson.org/) in Mee’s name.

Tina, and family - I was so sorry to hear about your mom. Reading this just exposed where you get your traits, including making family a priority but making friends feel so loved! I am sending you ALL prayers at this difficult time and will try to get to the viewing. If not, sending you hugs! Love Maria, Felix and the girls!
