John Michael Wright “Rhino”, 66, husband of Deborah Ann (Koch) Wright, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 12, 2022, at his home in Pottstown.
Born in Phoenixville, he was the son of the late John Wright and Marian (Shaffer) Wright. In his youth, John spent the Christmas season at Wetherill Christmas Tree Farm working with his family. John's time there fostered his love of the outdoors.
John loved hunting and fishing with Kevin and Mason. His trips to the mountains with the guys during deer season were always a favorite. John enjoyed starting his days with coffee and reading the newspaper followed by eggs and toast for breakfast! Crossword puzzles, watching sports, and taking care of Abbie were his daily "chores." John loved visiting Maryland to watch Michael coach football. More recently, John loved spending time with his four grandchildren. Always the instigator of silly faces and inappropriate noises, PopPop was the life of the party for his grandkids! John and Deb, high school sweethearts, savored time with family and friends. John was a member of The Famous Bucktown Boosters and a lifetime member of the Pottstown Quoit Club.
Surviving along with his wife Deborah of 44 years, is his mother Marian, and his sons Michael Wright, husband of Melissa, and Kevin Wright, husband of Devon; sisters Karen Smith, wife of Brian, and Nancy Sapone, wife of Nicholas; sister-in-law Linda Stetler; brother-in-law Chuck Loshnowsky, husband of Nicki; grandchildren Mason, Warren, Finley, and Gabriel Wright; along with several nieces and nephews.
