Jean Dodson D’Alesio

Jean Dodson D’Alesio (formerly Jean Roach of the late R. Michael Roach) affectionately “Mama Jean” passed away at Phoenixville Hospital on Tuesday, March 15th at 7:00 AM after a prolonged battle with Cancer. She was a resident of Barto, PA for 20 years and most recently moved to Royersford, PA.

Jean was born in Springfield, PA, Delaware County, on June 12, 1951 and was the daughter of the late Dorothy Bergen Dodson.

Jean is survived by her loving husband of 28 years, Daniel J. D’Alesio Jr., Brother, Charles “Buddy” Dodson and his partner Joanne Coyle, of Wynnewood, PA, and late brothers Edward and Robert Dodson. Her son, Andrew L. Roach, husband of Patricia Knox Roach, and their 3 children, Kaitlin, MacKenzie, and Daniel of Belmar, NJ. Her Daughter, Carrie Roach Polzer, wife of Ryan D Polzer and their son Michael of Islamorada, FL.,and her granddaughter, Dayanna Rivera, of Philadelphia, PA.

Jean spent years on the Main Line of Philadelphia in the antique and real estate business. Later in life, she was the registrar of the Philadelphia School of Massage Therapy for 15 years.

Jean was an outstanding woman with an unwavering dedication to her family and friends. Passionate in all things in life, she was a true grounding force to all that knew her. She had a dream of returning to Neskowin, Oregon to fulfill her desire to be surrounded by the beauty of nature and her closest lifelong friends. Her dream will be realized by her husband and children later this year in a private scattering of her ashes along the Oregon coast. A celebration of life will be planned to honor this beautiful woman; the date is yet to be determined.

From all the tributes I have read about Jean, she was a wonderful woman. I wish I had been able to know her better. Dan, I am glad you were able to spend so many years with Jean as your partner in life.
